When it comes to interviews.
Just had my phone interview, can't say it went good but can't say it went bad.
Just basically went over my resume, he had a couple questions but that was it.
Said they will be doing phone interviews for a couple weeks then making a decision as to who to bring in for in-person interviews.
The pessmist in me says I won't be hearing from them again, I would think if they were really interested they would have asked a few more experience in certain things questions.
The puppers have their own blog!
Mostly pictures, but some commentary.
And Stuffie Killers because it seems their main goal in life is to kill and maim as many stuffies as possible, I keep a tally in the side bar on their blog.
Probably why I don't post many pictures here very often anymore, I try to post daily but in the least usually 3 times a week.
Got these pictures on saturday, when the actual Air Show was (also on sunday but a few of the "acts" were not performing on sunday).
Also got to see "Fat Albert" fly over head. The Blue Angels have a C-130 painted liked their planes, it was pretty cool but I didn't get pictures of it.
Taken while sitting in my backyard! The sound was unbelieveable!
The Blue Angels just went screaming over the house!
They are in town this weekend for the Willow Run/Yankee Air Museum Air Show!
They are practicing and went screaming over the house, got pictures and video although the sound in the video doesn't do justice to standing there in person!
I GOT A INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WITH A MEDICAL COMPANY NO LESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FOR A QUALITY MANAGER POSITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PRAY, LIGHT CANDLES, SPRINKING PIXIE DUST, SCARFICE CHICKENS AND VIRGINS.
OH DEAR KARMA, PLEASE DON'T LET THIS BE A CRUEL JOKE.
Just realized that 1 year ago today I was layed off from my contract job at Ford.
Gads, I haven't worked in a whole year.
I use to look down at hearing that people were out of work a year or two or three. I thought they were not just looking hard enough or being unreasonable.
I was wrong about them.
Talk about nobody hiring, I applied to a job this week and looked at the last time I applied and it was back in the beginning of May.
And trust me when I say I am not being discriminate in apply to jobs, if it even closely resembles anything I have done I am applying it's just that nobody is hiring.
The scarest part is I really don't see myself getting a job until spring, if then.
This sucks dirty, wet socks.
Overheard at the Weenie house yesterday:
"Ok, everyone can stop licking their butts now"
Lear Automotive just applied for Bankruptcy protection. Gads, now the suppliers are begginning to drop like flys.
It's gonna be awhile before I get a job ...
Southfield-based Lear Corp. is the latest auto supplier pushed into bankruptcy but the company expects to emerge quickly because it has already won significant support from key stakeholders for its restructuring plan. The so-called pre-packaged Chapter 11 filing by Lear on Tuesday should pave the way for the seat maker to exit bankruptcy in four to six months.
Lear is a pretty big supplier, with them declaring bankruptcy I can only imagine how many smaller suppliers are, have or will be going belly up and closing for good in the next few months.
Although Lear is not going the route of the Chrsyler and GM bankruptcies, they are doing it the old fashioned way and will carry on day to day operations as normal. Which is good because there will no be no or almost no interuptions to the people they supply (Ford, GM, Toyota, etc) and they will still be buying from their suppliers.
This is just the beginning though, I fear what is to come because it's only going to make the employment situation in Michigan worse because suppliers employ a major portion of the people in the auto industry.
Kid Rock video "Roll On", filmed in Detroit with a couple scenes from the burbs.
Just when you think the hole can't get any deeper someone comes along with a better shovel.
Last week Maggie started grinding her teeth against each other when she would yawn and close her mouth, yesterday when she yawned it looked like her jaw might have gotten hung up when closing.
So off to the vet we go this morning.
The vet couldn't see anything blaringly wrong with her teeth by looking the best he could with a dog unwillingly having it's mouth held open.
He did notice a couple of red spots at the back of her throat. I noticed those a couple weeks ago and maybe thought they were scratches from an erant Bully stick.
He also said her lymph nodes were swelling. So we are starting with a batch of antibiotics to see if that does the trick. If it doesn't then they will have to put her under to get a better look at her jaw and throat.
Both Lance and Maggie's allegies have been really bothering them lately, so I am hoping it's just a case of really bad allergies.
My poor Baby Maggie.
Today my dad would have been 69 years old.
The last few years it just seems to have gotten harder again about missing him, not that it was ever easier but it just seems like lately I have been missing him more then usual.
It's hard to believe that in a few weeks it will be 16 years since he died, some days it seems like a lifetime and other days it seems like just yesterday.
Kenny Chesney - Who You'd Be Today
Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
I feel you everywhere I go
I see your smile, I see your face
I hear you laughin' in the rain
Still can't believe you're gone.
It ain't fair you died too young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I been through
Just knowin' no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder
Who you'd be today.
Would you see the world, would you chase your dreams
Settle down with a family
I wonder what would you name your babies
Somedays the sky's so blue
I feel like I can talk to you
And I know it might sound crazy.
It ain't fair you died too young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I been through
Just knowin' no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder
Who you'd be today.
Today, today, today
Today, today, today.
Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
The only thing that gives me hope
Is I know I'll see you again some day
Someday, someday...
The puppers have their own chair and it's pointed so that the late afternoon sun shines directly on it. They love it!
Back in January I wrote about how the FDA advisory group voted to ban Darvocet because of it poses an overdose risk because stupid people don't understand how many to take.
Darvocet is one of the top 25 medications prescribed, about 20 million prescriptions were written in 2007 but only about 3000 case were for "serious problems" and those problems being suicide, dependance and overdose.
So it that case 0.00015% of the population is going to dictate to 20 million people that they can no longer take the drug because of a microscopic portion of the population is stupid.
And now those fuckers are after Vicoden, Percocet and fucking Tylenol.
Government experts say prescription drugs like Vicodin and Percocet that combine a popular painkiller with stronger narcotics should be eliminated because of their role in deadly overdoses.A Food and Drug Administration panel on Tuesday voted 20-17 that prescription drugs that combine acetaminophen with other painkilling ingredients should be pulled off the market.
They basically want to pull anything off the market that has acetaminophen in it, which is almost every pain drug on the market.
They want to do this to protect us "stupid" people from liver failure. Because soooo many people are just dropping over from Tylenol induced liver failure these days.
Panelists cited FDA data indicating 60 percent of acetaminophen-related deaths are related to prescription products. Acetaminophen is also found in popular over-the-counter medications like Tylenol and Excedrin."We're here because there are inadvertent overdoses with this drug that are fatal, and this is the one opportunity we have to do something that will have a big impact," said Dr. Judith Kramer of Duke University Medical Center.
But they refuse to publish how many acetaminophen related deaths there are, but if we look at the above figures we see that in 2007 there were 3000 of them. So again the microscopic 0.00015% of the population is dictating which pain medications we are allowed to take.
But many panelists opposed a sweeping withdrawal of products that are so widely used to control severe, chronic pain."To make this shift without very clear understanding of the implications on the management of pain would be a huge mistake," said Dr. Robert Kerns of Yale University. (emphasis mine)
All I can say is: No Fucking Duh
The government really, truely, deep down thinks everyone is stupid.
