Job Hunting Update

Well things are not going to great on that front.

I did have a interview on Wednesday. I didn't get any warm fuzzies from it though, actually the opposite. I am thinking this company doesn't really want to hire anybody.

This was one of the companies that contacted me before Christmas for an interivew but then kept putting me off.

During the interview they mentioned that they work 50 hour weeks with plenty of 60 hour weeks, but of course only pay for a 40 hour week. Now I have nothing against overtime, and I know it comes with the territory but to tell me you expect 10-12 hour days but will only pay for a 8 hour day is something that will not sit well with me.

And they said they pay low but promise a bonus if they hire you on full time, but didn't have any open positions they could forsee.

Ya, no warm fuzzies at all.

So I kept on searching, but nobody is hiring right now. All the calls I get from head hunters are for the south, actually have had 3 calls for a Quality Manager position at the Hyundai Plant in Montgomery, AL.

Would AL be that bad? Cost of living is inexpensive (especially compared to FL) and the puppies (and you) would be warmer. Trying to find positives.

Negatives - its a big move and what about Mr Weenie?

Tell those idiots to kiss your ass. We fought a war against slavery. Time to migrate.

Depends on what you want to do... but Alabama is not as 'backwards' as people make it out to be...
