1896 First motor car in "Motor City"

Charles B. King tested his automobile on the streets of Detroit, Michigan, becoming the first man to drive a car in the Motor City.

i wud like to add something else in the column. well in 1950 on this day Audi released their gas turbine powered car which was then the first in the world. unfortunately it never got any competition as the concepr itself died in front of the internal combustion engine due to the high cost and maintainance and low fuel efficiency of the gas turbine engine. nevertheless the engineers at audi should be appalauded for trying out something so radical and accomplishing though not economically.
