We just had our Lockdown drill and I would have been shot, according to the coordinator for my area, I came pretty close to telling her to go f&*k herself and unless someone went postal in the next two days this drill was useless to me.
When they annouced the drill people literally ran into conference rooms, slammed the doors shut, pushed the table against the door and wouldn't let anyone else in. Within like 10 seconds everybody was in the rooms.
I tried 2 rooms and people would just giggle.
So I thought screw this and went and sat at my desk. There was no way in hell I was sitting under my desk for a drill with the way my joints feel.
I have been in similar situations and let me tell you, unless the postal person was close my priority would be to get out of the building not hide so they could find me and shoot me.

Posted by: Navy CPO at July 10, 2008 10:54 AMOur lockdown drills at school are exciting too...except we've had 2 or 3 'real' ones. Try huddling in a corner with 20 kids, and one of them needs to go to the bathroom...and then the next one does...and then the next one...*sigh*
At least you could have gotten to the bathroom if necessary.
