Last week the fire alarms went off in our building, but we could barely hear them.
So most of us evacuated, didn't want to take the chance of burning.
We get this email this week, scolding us for evacuating.
All Safety System alarms are set up for high rise buildings as follows. When a alarm is activated on any given floor the alarm one floor below and two floors above will sound off with a announcement and strobes. Security and Fire will than evaluate the situation to determine to see if we need to evacuate other floors/areas of the building. The building would than be notified by their floor alarm system. The system does not require a complete building evacuation unless needed.
I'm sorry, if I hear a fire alarm I am evacuating. I am not going to wait around for someone else to decide if I need to the leave the building or not.
I work in a 10 story building.

I am a grammar Nazi. As my grades is school pretty much reflected. I think the words "than" in both of these phrases should be "then."
If this is how they send corporate correspondence, I would be nervous as to the mental capacity of some who hold higher positions in the company.
But hey, thats just me.
