So the interview was Monday
The bad -
The hiring manager called in sick that morning so I didn't get to interview directly with him, he sent in a Senior Quality Engineer to interview me in his place. I also interviewed with the Quality Manager.
The good -
The Senior Quality Engineer I interviewed with was someone I actually worked with when I first started out at Ford. He said he remembered me right away, I vaguely remember him.
He said they needed a Quality Engineer with plastics background because they didn't have one, 90% of my background is in plastics.
When asked what 3 of my strengths were I answered, root cause analysis, communication and quick learner. He then stated the position mostly does root cause analysis and that is one of the things they are looking for in a candidate.
What's next -
They had some more people to interview and if they really liked any of those that interviewed on Monday they would bring them back to interview with the hiring manager and then make a decision.
Decision should be made in 3-6 weeks (but the HR manager said closer to 3 weeks then 6 weeks).
So I am hopeful since I have everything they are looking for, especially the root cause analysis and plastics part.
