The Patch

Doesn't it feel like everytime you finally get settled with all your health problems and the medications your taking and things are sailing along smoothly all of a sudden another thing crops up.

Crap

Birth control patches linked to women's deaths
However, the reports obtained by the AP appear to indicate that in 2004 -- when 800,000 women were on the patch -- the risk of dying or suffering a survivable blood clot while using the device was about three times higher than that while using birth control pills.

Look like it's back to the doctor I go, which is going to suck because my Arthritis medication interferes with birth control pills (makes them useless) and the patch was the only thing we found so far that isn't affected by my arthritis medication.

BTW most estrogen, even pills carry a risk of blood clots and stroke....

AW - True, but they are saying the patch carries 3 times the risk that the pill does.

I love the patch, well besides the fact that the damn thing peels half way off in a bath and swimming.

I never have had any problems with it at all. Of course I have endo and any relief from that is a blessing so any side effects from the pill/patch are nothing compared to the endo.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I haven't been on the pill or anything in a long time. I use to have horrible reactions even to the mildest pill. Best of luck at getting it all worked out.

I have to admit, whenever I hear about medications being pulled, I wonder if you're going to be on the "lucky" list.

So sorry! I hope that something positive happens. (You know what I mean.)
